Barb Killian

Counsel to the Firm, Indianapolis

Barb joined Stoll Keenon Ogden as Counsel to the Firm in 2022, as part of the firm’s merger with Katz Korin Cunningham. She is part of the Health Care practice group. Barb brings more than 20 years of health care experience obtained through both private and public practice, consulting, and as Vice President of Operations for a national healthcare compliance consulting and software company.

Health Care: Barb represents hospitals, hospital systems, nursing homes, and other providers, and served for several years as in-house counsel with a large Indiana health system. She concentrates her practice in regulatory compliance, privacy and security, risk management, contracting, administrative and civil litigation, Medicare and Medicaid appeals, and emergency preparedness and response.  

Prior to joining Katz Korin Cunningham, Barb served at the Indiana Department of Health as Regulatory Compliance and Policy Liaison and as Special Counsel for Emergency Response. Among other notable accomplishments, Barb helped develop Indiana’s syringe services legislation and harm reduction programming in response to the opioid crisis, convened several State agencies to develop safety and infection control protocols, facilitated quality improvement events as a Lean Practitioner, played an integral role in Indiana’s COVID-19 response, and co-chaired the State’s health equity policy and communications committees.
