Lewis was an Of Counsel attorney in Stoll Keenon Ogden’s Lexington office and joined the firm in 2008. He was a Member of the Tort, Trial & Insurance Services, Arbitration & Mediation, and Business Litigation practice groups. He worked with individuals and groups in the thoroughbred business, along with clients from a variety of other industries. He had significant experience in handling criminal and civil cases.
Before his tenure at SKO, Lewis was a judge who served 25 years on the Fayette District Court, Fayette Circuit Court and Kentucky Court of Appeals. His judicial career also included roles as president of the Kentucky District Judges’ Association and a Court of Appeals representative to the Judicial Ethics Committee.

Active in the community throughout his career, Lewis served on the Judicial Advisory Committee to the Governor's Office of Child Abuse and Domestic Violence Services, the Governor's Task Force on Sexual Assault, and the board of directors for the Bluegrass Domestic Violence Program. He also served on the Regional Policy Counsel for the Bluegrass IMPACT Project for emotionally disturbed children.
