Tom is a member of the Business Services and Real Estate practices. He joined SKO in 2017 with the firm’s merger with Bamberger, Foreman, Oswald & Hahn.
During Tom’s 40 years of practicing law, he has seen hundreds of changes in laws and regulations. He understands how these changes can impact his clients and their businesses, and works to ensure that any adverse impacts are minimal.
Business Services: My practice is focused on identifying risks and advising clients on employment issues, contract matters, licensing and confidentiality agreements. I provide counsel relating to local and state laws and regulations. Also, I assist local governments with economic development projects, including use of tax incentives, tax phase-in and financing options.
Real Estate: I help commercial developers and owners identify risks in real estate transactions and contracts. In addition, I proactively identify issues in tax incentives planning, commercial lending and contract review, and work with clients to resolve them before problems arise.
With the increased pressures on state and local governmental unit to finance services as well as create business friendly communities, governmental units and private businesses will require counsel to navigate the legal requirements and serve both the needs of government and private businesses through public-private partnership.
