Brown, James,74, passed away Thursday February 26, 2015. Mr. Brown was born June 26, 1940, the son of the late Bart A. and Martha Ahern Brown. Mr. Brown was a 1959 graduate of St. Xavier High School, received his undergraduate degree from Bellarmine University, and his Jurist Doctorate from the University of Louisville. Mr. Brown was a member of the United States Air Force Reserves, after which he began a law career that spanned over 40 years, most recently with Stoll Keenon Ogden. He was a longtime board member of Owensboro Grain Company, the former Mayor of Robinswood, and a former board member of the Airport Authority. He was also a long time member of Audubon Country Club and enjoyed countless rounds of golf with family and friends.

Mr. Brown is survived by his sons, Daniel R. Brown (Lauren), Bart A. Brown, III (Melissa), daughter, Lori Brown Legel (Brent); five grandchildren, Benson Irvin Brown, Eli Michael Brown, Addison James Legel, Samantha Grey Legel, Nolan James Brown; former wife and friend Neva G. Brown; three brothers, Bart A. Brown, Jr., Thomas A. Brown, Joseph Brown; three sisters, Janie Abell, Mary Ann Quesenberry, Kathleen Kelley; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, David, Anthony, and Daniel Brown.
