Christopher C. Wischer

A Member with the Evansville office, Chris joined Stoll Keenon Ogden in 2017 as part of the firm’s merger with Bamberger, Foreman, Oswald & Hahn. His career has been primarily focused on real estate and government relations, including some intersection between the two areas of practice. Chris also supports clients in handling general business matters and transactions. Chris also serves on the board of directors for the firm.

Real Estate Services: Chris consults with commercial developers, owners and investors on every aspect of a project. Before a property is acquired, he helps to ensure that proper due diligence is conducted, including coordination and review of title examinations, environmental assessments, surveys, and zoning and land use approvals. He helps clients navigate the myriad of state and local regulations, permits and approvals that can impact a project. He also assists with like-client exchanges under Section 1031 of the Internal Revenue Code.

Government Relations: Chris serves as the town attorney for Newburgh and Elberfeld in Indiana, and he is the city attorney for Corydon, Kentucky. He also consults with a range of government bodies that include cities, counties, zoning boards, storm water boards, historic preservation districts, and redevelopment commissions. For many of these entities, he provides specialized consultation on economic development, financing, annexation, and zoning and land use.

Right of Way/Eminent Domain: Chris leverages his experience in Real Estate and Government Relations to assist local governments, public utilities and railroads in the acquisition of easements, right of way and other real estate interests necessary for completion of critical infrastructure projects, including the use of Eminent Domain proceedings when necessary.
