Emily Childress is an associate at Stoll Keenon Ogden, joining the firm in 2023 and working out of the Lexington, Ky., office. Emily is a recent graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where she served on the executive boards of the Student Bar Association and the University of Cincinnati Law Review. Emily also worked as a teaching assistant in property, contracts, and business law courses.

Prior to joining Stoll Keenon Ogden full-time, Emily worked as a summer associate at SKO and also completed internships with the Louisville Metro Public Defender’s Office, the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky as a judicial extern, and the Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation.

Emily has been recognized in the community for her pro bono work as a volunteer tax preparer with the United Way of Greater Cincinnati’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. Also an accomplished writer, Emily’s piece on the modernization of debt collection practices was published in the University of Cincinnati Law Review Volume 91 Issue 1.

Utility & Energy: Emily and our team of attorneys focus on the regulation of utilities in Kentucky while also participating in condemnation and eminent domain litigation, franchise negotiations and litigation, state utility tax issues, and transactions and litigation involving utility industry issues. This team of attorneys has represented clients before the Kentucky Public Service Commission, the Virginia State Corporation Commission, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and other state and federal regulatory bodies, as well as before federal and state trial and appellate courts.
