SKO Welcomes 2017 Summer Associates

SKO welcomes seven law students to the 2017 Summer Associate program.

Joining the Lexington office are:
Hannah Bennett, a 2012 graduate of Taylor University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in visual arts and served as president of the Equestrian Team. Hannah is currently studying at the University of Kentucky College of Law where she is staff editor of the Kentucky Journal of Equine, Agricultural, and Natural Resources Law, and an Equine Law Society Administrative Board Member. Hannah previously was a legal department summer associate with Lexmark International, Inc. and also held graphic design positions with the United States Eventing Association and Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America.

Katelyn Brown, a 2014 graduate of the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She was an Otis A. Singletary Scholar and Global Scholars Program participant. Katelyn completed the CPA exam in 2015. Now studying at the University of Kentucky College of Law, she is active in the Student Government Association, Student Bar Association and Women’s Law Caucus. She has worked as a summer law clerk for Hassman & Fitzhugh, PLLC; accounts payable and breeding secretary with Stonestreet Farm, and financial institutions audit intern with Crowe Horwath Accounting Firm.

Hannah Kembel, a 2015 University of Kentucky graduate with bachelor’s degree in psychology and philosophy. Hannah currently is studying at Vanderbilt University Law School. Her activities include Moot Court and serving as VP of events for the Cork and Tap Legal Society. Previous work experience includes interning for the Honorable Joseph M. Hood, US District Court Eastern District of Kentucky, and tutoring Division I student athletes for UK’s Center for Academic and Tutorial Services.

Joining the Louisville office are:
Victoria Allen, a 2016 University of Louisville graduate where she earned a bachelor’s degree in history and political science, served as Student Body President and student trustee on the Board of Trustees. Currently studying at the University of Michigan Law School, Victoria is junior editor of the Michigan Journal of Environmental and Administrative Law and development chair for OUTLaws. Her work experience includes senior fellow with Humanity in Action-John Lewis Fellowships, business development and research intern with Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP, junior fellow with the Library of Congress, and administrative intern with Emerge Kentucky.

Kevin Imhoff, a 2014 University of Louisville graduate with a bachelor’s degree in political science. Currently studying at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law, Kevin participates in the U of L Law Review, Moot Court and Student Bar Association. His work experience includes law clerk with Bahe cook Cantley & Nefger, teller at PNC Bank, Microphone Man and Sales Associate with Shoe Carnival, and Intern to Kentucky State Representative Sal Santoro.

Briana Lathon, a 2015 graduate of Centre College where she earned a bachelor’s degree in government and served as secretary of finance for the Student Government Association. Briana currently is studying at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law where she is president of the Black Law Student Association and lead research assistant the Resilience Justice Land Use Project. Briana’s work experience includes serving as law clerk with the US Attorney’s Office-KYW and legal intern with Turner, Keal & Dallas PLLC.

Katelyn Skeens, a 2015 graduate of the University of Louisville where she earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and was a member of Rho Lambda, the national sorority leadership recognition society. Currently in her Second year at University of Louisville Brandies School of Law, Katelyn earned the CALI Award in four classes and serves as public relations chair of Student Bar Association. Her work experience includes serving as legal intern with Churchill Downs Incorporated.
