Jacob Krummen is a utility and energy attorney who helps clients navigate regulatory requirements, manage risk, and make informed decisions that support both their day-to-day operations and long-term planning. He works closely with utilities and other energy-sector organizations to address complex issues within the rapidly evolving industry while continuing to advance their operational and business objectives. Clients benefit from his attention to detail, clear communication, and practical approach to problem-solving, particularly when matters require careful analysis and strategic planning.

His military service and background in nuclear power shape his approach to client service and problem-solving. During his six years in the U.S. Navy, he operated and maintained nuclear power systems in highly regulated and mission-critical environments, where preparation, precision, and accountability were paramount. Using that foundation, he works collaboratively with clients and colleagues to address emerging issues, anticipate potential challenges, and deliver thoughtful guidance tailored to each client’s needs.

Prior to joining SKO, Jacob served as a judicial intern to a magistrate judge within the U.S. District Court’s Eastern District of Kentucky, where he gained insight into judicial processes and strengthened his legal research, writing, and analytical skills. Previously, he worked with a local utility reviewing federal agency guidance to ensure compliance and assisting with contract negotiations and witness preparation. He draws on those experiences to help clients assess risks, evaluate options, and develop practical solutions to complex challenges while remaining focused on achieving their goals.
