Kirby A. Black

Associate, Louisville

Kirby is an Associate in the Louisville office. A native of Paducah, Kentucky, she joined the firm in 2022 and practices with the health care; torts, trials, and insurance; and business litigation groups. She focuses on defense of professional negligence claims made against physicians, health care personnel, and hospitals.

Kirby graduated from Centre College in 2017 and the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law in 2020, where she earned her J.D. with magna cum laude distinction. While in law school, she served as Notes Editor of the University of Louisville Law Review.

Prior to joining Stoll Keenon Ogden, Kirby spent a year as a law clerk to the Honorable Thomas B. Russell, senior judge for the U.S. District Court in the Western District of Kentucky.

Kirby prides herself on working closely with her colleagues to help.

Health Care: Kirby and her colleagues advise hospitals, physicians and physicians groups, and other health care professionals on a range of concerns in an ever-changing legal and regulatory environment.

Torts, Trials, and Insurance: Kirby provides effective her clients with representation through all stages of the litigation process, with an emphasis on cases related to health care.

Business Litigation: Kirby and her colleagues work with clients to minimize the legal and reputational impact of litigation and ensure the best possible outcome in the most appropriate venue.
