Shelby Rice joined Stoll Keenon Ogden as an Associate in 2025. Previously, she worked as a criminal defense attorney where she focused on providing her legal services to indigent clients. In her first year with the firm, Shelby has focused on Family Law Services, helping both individuals and families during times of transition. She provides strategic guidance in adoption, child custody and support, dissolution of marriage, domestic violence orders, and other family and relationship areas. Her experience extends to assisting her clients in determining the best steps to protect their high-value assets and other business interests during periods of change.

Shelby received her J.D. at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law where she centered her work around the public good. Through her experience as a legal extern, Shelby often participated in community outreach efforts that focused on providing families in underserved communities with legal services. She was selected twice for the Rural Justice Initiative Internship and actively participated in the Phi Delata Phi International Legal Society, Women’s Caucus, and Leadership & Professional Development Institute. Through her criminal defense and pro bono background, Shelby has gained a wealth of experience in meeting with clients, negotiating deals, conducting depositions, and participating in a variety of court hearings.
