Stoll Keenon Ogden PLLC is pleased to announce support of the University of Kentucky’s Solar Car Team. Stoll Keenon Ogden’s sponsorship will support the construction of UK’s newest solar-powered car, Gato del Sol IV.
This financial contribution will help the team move forward with the manufacturing and racing of its newest car. The team is designing and building a new solar powered car to compete in the 2010 North American Solar Challenge and the 2011 World Solar Challenge. Gato del Sol IV will be one of the fastest solar powered cars in the world with an estimated top speed of 70 mph. “Gato IV” is building on the team’s previous successes including a Second place finish at the 2009 Formula Sun Grand Prix.
The student-run team’s research advances the potential for mainstream solar-powered transportation. Their cars excel in using small amounts of power to travel at high speeds. In addition, the project will benefit K-12 students throughout Kentucky, because the car will be driven to elementary, middle, and high schools, to inspire students to study math, science and engineering.
