Alyssa is a Member of Stoll Keenon Ogden’s Evansville office. Alyssa is a highly skilled trial attorney who practices in state and federal trial courts and appellate courts. Alyssa also serves as fractional general counsel for a limited number of small to mid-size organizations, often being the first call for business leaders whenever legal services are needed.
A lifelong equine owner and competitor, Alyssa provides high-quality counsel to equine-industry clients. She is the chair of the Amateur Committee in the American Quarter Horse Association, the world’s largest equine breed registry and membership organization. Alyssa writes on equine topics and has been published, including by the Midwest Reining Horse Association regarding estate planning for horse owners.
General Counsel: For a limited number of small to mid-size businesses, Alyssa serves as the first point of contact whenever legal services are needed over the course of the client’s regular business operations. A key advisor, Alyssa’s services are sought by business owners, executives, and leaders to solve complex legal and business challenges. These challenges can include proactive legal risk management and problem avoidance, compliance, strategic business planning, and more.
Equine Litigation: Alyssa and SKO’s Equine Litigation practice group are at the forefront of major equine litigation, arbitration, and mediation from antitrust to collection matters involving familiarity with the detailed and specific rules applicable to agisters’ liens and stud fee liens.
Business Litigation: Alyssa and the Business Litigation practice group assist large and small companies through a broad array of conflicts they encounter, providing strategic advice to businesses and professionals faced with disputes, lawsuits, and arbitration.
Labor, Employment, & Employee Benefits: Alyssa is highly skilled in evaluating and advising clients on ADA, discrimination, FMLA, and harassment claims. Alyssa and the attorneys in this practice group serve as trusted advisors and effective advocates, helping employers solve problems through proactive counseling, employee training, and cost-efficient litigation, including alternative dispute resolution.
