Katie joined Stoll Keenon Ogden’s Evansville office in 2022. She is part of the Appellate, Banking Law, Business Litigation, Healthcare, and Labor, Employment & Employee Benefits practice groups.

Katie’s focus is on appeals, commercial litigation, municipal law, and employment disputes. She also advises businesses, municipal governments, and educational institutions on employment matters and civil rights laws, such as ADA, FMLA, OSHA, and Title VII.

An accomplished appellate lawyer, Katie has successfully litigated appeals to the Indiana Court of Appeals, the Indiana Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. She also has represented businesses and financial institutions at the trial court level in a broad range of subject matters, including breach of contract, business torts, construction disputes, and class action defense.

Katie represents municipal governments in litigation concerning many issues, such as complex constitutional claims, public bidding, zoning, and more. She also counsels and represents school corporations and higher education institutions in matters of employment law and local, state, and federal civil rights law. In addition, Katie has extensive training and experience in Title IX complaint investigations and hearings.

Prior to starting a private practice, Katie spent approximately eight years as a judicial clerk to three judges of the Indiana Court of Appeals—the Honorable Paul D. Mathias, the Honorable Ezra H. Friedlander, and the Honorable Robert R. Altice, Jr. In 2018, she joined Ziemer Stayman Weitzel & Shoulders as an attorney.
