SKO reinforces commitment to downtown Louisville after decades in the area

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Aug. 29, 2023) – Stoll Keenon Ogden PLLC (SKO), one of Kentucky’s most established and long-standing law firms, will officially relocate its downtown Louisville office to 400 West Market Street, Suite 2700, on Tuesday, September 5. After more than 125 years in operation, the move reaffirms SKO’s commitment to the downtown community while also allowing the organization to update its current office model.

“One of the reasons our Firm has enjoyed over 126 years of success is that we have always embraced change and have constantly sought ways to better serve our clients,” said P. Douglas Barr, Managing Director of SKO. “Our commitments to leveraging the ongoing information technology revolution, retaining top-tier talent, and meeting the 21st-century demands of our clients’ businesses are reflected in the design of our new office space.”

With approximately 170 attorneys across Kentucky and Indiana, SKO represents clients on the local, state, national and international levels. The Firm’s attorneys and legal professionals have experience in more than 50 practices and industries, working out of five offices – including the new location, which will house 79 employees.

While the Firm will occupy the 26th and 27th floors, consisting of  41,698 square feet, the new office space allows SKO to reduce its floor space by 40 percent. Working with a design team, SKO renovated the new office, updating technology and modernizing facilities in order to service clients more efficiently.

The move to 400 West Market Street puts SKO blocks away from its former downtown office, which was located at 500 West Jefferson Street. Remaining in Louisville’s Central Business District was vital to the Firm, which is committed to local communities, charities, and organizations in the area.

“We are especially proud to remain at the center of downtown Louisville as a reflection of our commitment to this community,” Barr said.

Along with having private offices and collaborative areas, the organization is also announcing the SKO Arts Program, a rotating art gallery that will feature and promote local artists. Art will be shown three times a year, from January 1-April 30, May 1-August 31, and September 1-December 31. With a deep passion for the arts, SKO’s leadership has served as active board members on many of Louisville’s arts, business, and civic boards to enhance the community and stature of its law firm through a consistent commitment to legal excellence and extensive civic involvement. Theresa Beames, a former president and director of the KMAC Contemporary Art Museum, will serve as the curator of the SKO Arts Program.
