Brian is a Member of the Health Care practice group at Stoll Keenon Ogden. He joined the firm in 2022, when Stoll Keenon Ogden merged with Katz Korin Cunningham, where he had been practicing since 2020.
Brian concentrates his practice on representing hospitals, physicians, nurses, and other health care providers in all manners of litigation and general legal advisement. His practice areas span a wide range of matters, including medical malpractice actions, license disciplinary investigations and complaints, administrative actions and judicial reviews, and general civil defense.
Brian began his legal career defending governmental entities in civil litigation, working in both public and private practice. This provided an invaluable base of legal experience, as it provided mentorship from seasoned government lawyers and the opportunity to manage a caseload in state and federal court. As lead counsel Brian was able to handle a wide array of cases, ranging from judicial reviews of administrative actions, contractual disputes with construction contractors, employment law disputes, correctional litigation, and everything in between. He has successfully defended numerous constitutional challenges to state law, including challenges to the Right to Farm Act (Indiana Code § 32-30-6-9), Indiana’s municipal dual-employment prohibition (Indiana Code § 3-5-9), and Indiana’s major political party statute (Indiana Code § 3-5-2-30).
Prior to joining Katz Korin Cunningham, Brian was legal counsel for several state agencies, including the Indiana Board of Medical Examiners, the Indiana Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners, the Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, the Indiana School for the Deaf, and the Indiana Integrated Public Safety Commission.
