Counsel , Indianapolis IN

Donn joined Stoll Keenon Ogden’s Indianapolis office as Counsel to the Firm in 2017 when SKO merged with Bamberger, Foreman, Oswald & Hahn. He serves as Co-Chair of the firm’s Auto Dealer Services practice and builds on his decades of legal experience in this industry to help clients navigate a range of legal matters.

Adding to his detailed familiarity with the highly regulated auto industry, Donn is a car enthusiast who is active in three automobile clubs and is a proud owner of several classic models, including a 1958 Buick Super that was purchased new by his grandfather.

Buicks and Cord sedans are just one area where Donn has significant expertise. He also practices within several other groups at the firm, including Business Services, and Business and Environmental Litigation. He serves clients throughout Indiana, and he has argued cases before federal and state courts.

Highly regarded among clients and professionals in the legal community, Donn has been recognized in regional and national peer-review publications.

Auto Dealer Services: Donn represents independent and franchised auto dealers in consumer fraud claims, regulatory proceedings, advertising compliance concerns, and manufacturer issues. He emphasizes the proactive implementation of best practices and defensive measures, such as proper transaction forms. He also assists dealers with business licensing.

Business Services: From small businesses to major corporations, Donn offers assistance with a broad spectrum of business activities, from commercial real estate transactions to information technology agreements.

Business Litigation: When clients are faced with disputes, Donn offers strategic counsel through every stage of the process, with careful consideration of their time and financial situation. He helps manage conflicts on the front end with guidance on sound business practices.

Environmental Litigation: Donn helps businesses navigate liability and regulatory issues arising from the soil and groundwater impacts of chlorinated solvents, petroleum, PCBs, and heavy metals. Since the Underground Storage Tank (UST) regulation began in 1986, Donn has counseled businesses on compliance and helped clients obtain insurance coverage for environmental liability. He routinely deals with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management in administrative review cases and in defense of Notices of Violation.
