Vance Elevated to Chair-Elect of ABA Section of Litigation

LEXINGTON (August 17, 2017)–Palmer Gene Vance II has been elevated to chair-elect of the Section of Litigation of the American Bar Association for 2017-18.

Vance is on track to be installed as the 46th chair of the American Bar Association Section of Litigation at the ABA’s annual meeting in 2018.

The Section of Litigation is the ABA’s largest section, with 50,000+ members and 40+ active committees. Its mission is to provide litigators of all practice areas the resources needed to become successful and experienced advocates. The section is dedicated to upholding the rule of law and to offering its members opportunities for business networking and career advancement and a portfolio of professional and business development products.

Vance’s involvement in the ABA includes serving in the House of Delegates since 2001 where he has chaired four different committees. His service in the Section of Litigation includes serving as Managing Director in 2010-11, co-chairing the Membership and Marketing Committee in 2011-12, co-chairing the 2009 Section Annual Conference, and most recently serving as Revenue Officer from 2012-16.

He also is a past president of the Fayette County Bar Association.

Vance has been with Stoll Keenon Ogden PLLC since 1995 and he is a Member in the firm’s Lexington office. He is a member of the Business Litigation practice, the Tort, Trial & Insurance Services practice, and the Intellectual Property practice. He also maintains an active trial and dispute resolution practice, and chairs the firm’s Pro Bono Committee.
